Hello friends!
You might have noticed that I went several days without blogging, which is not like me!
I went to sign in one day and it said my email was not associated with any account.
Of course there is ways to fix this.
Blogger can email you a new password, etc., but the email address I was using was no longer in use as it was hacked a couple years ago.
Long story short, I lost access to my blog, so now when you search for my sweet savannah, you will have to search instead for my sweet savannah blog.
I tried to make the title as close to my other one, as blogger wouldn't let me use the same one!
Anyway, just a warning to back up your blogs often!
I will do so now!
I have worked really hard over the last 6 years to create a large following, and I know it's just a number, but it's really a good feeling to look over and see the amount of people that are following.
So, if you wouldn't mind, clicking on that "follow me" button again, I'd really appreciate it!
I promise to be back soon with more posts but I'd like to leave this one up for a bit.
I will also slowly be adding everything back to my sidebars, so excuse the "mess" that will be happening over the next couple weeks!

I am so sorry. I too lost control of my blog a few months ago... as a new blogger it was disheartening. I cannot imagine what it's like loosing 6 years worth of work :-/

Pamela, it's still there. Because of the email problem, Melaine just couldn't log in to the old one to create any new posts. We can all hope it never happens to us!

I know it's not the same but I saved emails that were special to me on a Hotmail acct and got a virus/spam thing and I couldn't change password and had to make a new email address. So frustrating. Anyway, I hope you don't stress to much about it and don't worry about us and take your time. Your readers to your blog will wait and be patient. :)

You are one of the first people I ever followed. I can't imagine losing all that you created because your blog was obviously a work of love. I can't imagine not being able to look back at some of your wonderful posts - like the time your surprised your daughter with a bedroom redo while she was at camp.

ReplyDeleteI think when google took over, the default put everything in a non admin mode. I had the exact same problem but signed out of google, changed the address on original blog and then was able to control my old blog. I left this note on your Facebook but had not heard back from you if you tried it or if it works. It's a IT thing that would drive anyone crazy! Their approach was a spam approach which is supposed to protect us but caused more problems than helping. Pamie G.

That's terrible! I'm sorry to hear this happened to you, and I'm sure you're very upset about it. You suggested backing up one's blog. How does one go about this??

ReplyDeleteBacking up your blog is super important and if you're a prolific blogger you should do it weekly...I was reading on one of Blogger Help sites that most problems are caused by forgetting your email password...this almost happened to me too! But I was able to change my email and password...whew!
