{it's mine}
than this is the chili recipe for you.
AMBER ALE TURKEY CHILI
Serves 8
1 teaspoon + 1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey
1 teaspoon salt
1 large onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 12 ounce bottle amber ale
1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon honey
1 15 ounce can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1. Heat 1 teaspoon olive oil in a deep sauté pan over medium. Add turkey and brown, while breaking up meat with a wooden spoon, for 5 minutes or until no pink remains. Transfer to a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
2. Drain liquid from pan and add remaining olive oil. Add onion and sauté for 5 minutes or until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Stir in chili powder, cumin, and oregano; sauté for 30 seconds.
3. Pour ale in and let simmer for 5 minutes. Return turkey to pot and add crushed tomatoes, honey, and a 1/2 cup water. Reduce heat to medium low; simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
4. Add beans during last 5 minutes of cooking to heat through. Stir in lime juice and spoon into eight bowls. Serve with sour cream, cheddar, scallions, and a lime wedge on the side if desired.
